The goose is getting ready to cook. rahirah has made up a rice & water chestnut stuffing. There will be yams and potatoes. I haven't cooked much of anything this year, but there is a plate of oatmeal cookies left from the other day (goodie day at work).
We haven't opened any presents yet, but the in-laws have sent me a few movies (The Blues Brothers 25th Anniversary Edition and Charlotte's Web) and Barb's brother gave me John Prine's new album, Fair and Square. My iPod did just need resetting, I followed the directions on the help website and she's working again, so I can finally LISTEN to John Prine...
Yesterday sillymagpie took us shopping up and down 16th Street and that was enjoyable. I found the CD of an album we had way back when we lived on the Zuni reservation, mostly covers but some originals by what is obviously still a local Zuni band (they had some new discs available there, too). I only lived on the reservation for two years, and I was very young, but it left an indelible impression on me (The Land of the Shalako).
May all your days be warm and bright.
