I have a wonderful wife
A great house
A good job
Some modicum of talent
I want for nothing (important, anyway)
My vehicle is in good condition and running (knock wood)
Our table was laden for dinner
We have plenty of leftovers
A decent savings account
And in a slightly cynical political tone, I'm not sure if I gained it because I'm white, or in spite of the fact I'm female and lesbian.
Our turkey did a strange thing -- it was well cooked, and the temperature was heading up to 155, so I figured it done, but as we carved, we found that deep inside and underneath it was still a little "unsafe" looking. So we cut off the top and put the bottom back in the oven. Never had a bird do that before. The gravy came out great and it was fantastic stuffing, so all well in the end. Roasted the yams and potatoes together with carrots, which came out very tasty; and broccoli for the green veggie. There's a relish tray here with more carrots, celery, olives, and radishes from the Farmers Market.
The official start of the Christmas season: Santa arrives in Herald Square.
I still can't find that vignette I know I wrote. Dang it, dang it. I wonder if I can re-create it. (If I do, I'll be sure to find the original.)
Have a delightful, wonderful, bountiful Thanksgiving, everyone. Unless you live in another country, in which case just have a nice day.
