Usually I don't say, with heartfelt feeling, "may it be a damned sight better than the last one," but in this case...? Yeah, I'll make an exception.
I don't know what to do about the whole LJ thing. I've converted everything over to Dreamwidth, but I don't like it as much as I like LJ, and I will be very sad to leave, but... Russia. I don't want to emulate our lovely president-elect. /irony
Today we braved the numerous detours to go to real brick-and-mortar bookstores. I wanted to go to Changing Hands today, but forgot about the New Year's Fiesta Bowl Parade, which had Central blocked off all the way to 7th Street on one side and 7th Avenue on the other, and Changing Hands is at 3rd Avenue. We did some wiggling and finally got there. I didn't find any of the books I wanted to find (either there or at Half-Price Books), but I got a few things to save up for our trip in March (much as I love my numerous Kindles, I still love having a paper book for some things). I probably should have gotten a Kindle version of Under the Dome, but it was THERE, so I picked it up.
I did forget to look at desk calendars, which was one of the things I wanted to look for.
Happy New Year to all.
