Gakked from sillymagpie:

Which Fantasy/SciFi Character Are You?

Boldly striving to overcome the darkness both in this world and within yourself, you are righteously devoted to forging your own destiny.

It's your choice, but I warn you not to underestimate my powers.

Luke is a character in the Star Wars universe. For more information, see his character entry at the Star Wars Databank.

Now, in the "which character in Star Wars are you," specifically, I was Han Solo. Although to be honest, I do have a strong streak of Luke.

For many years I have been trying to find/purchase a tape deck component that I could plug into the computer to digitize my many ancient cassette tapes, including looking at a VERY nifty one at Think Geek, but finally grokked to the notion that the earphone jack was an "output" line. Duh. I got a $3 adapter at Radio Snack and have begun the arduous process. I didn't realize we had SIX Peter Tork concerts on tape.

I will announce it here and now, and she's gonna get mad at me when she reads this, but if the stress level on Three Deep doesn't decrease, I'm going to make rahirah stop. So there.

We wound up buying a fairly nice tape deck component several years ago at a pawn shop... we've had it hooked up to rackham's computer in order to digitize our old filk tapes.

but if the stress level on Three Deep doesn't decrease, I'm going to make rahirah stop.

Well, the only thing I have to add is that hobbies are supposed to be fun. When they stop being fun, they're no longer a hobby.

If I'd found one that was inexpensive enough I'd have started this eons ago. Every time I went looking, though, there never were any about that were cheap enough. So what the hey, I have an old stereo with an earphone...

Yeah, that's about it.

Old filk tapes, yay! Now I miss that I didn't buy any when I was younger...you just can't get them anymore.

rahirah feels guilty when she thinks she's "underperforming" on a hobby, and thereafter will slog through it like sucking grim death. Perhaps adjusting the schedule might help, but no, I am lowest cat on the totem pole and get snapped at or groaned at if I say such things... :-(

I suggested a having a "Barbara Day" when we do stuff that makes Barb happy and relaxed, but I was snarled at... :-(

Somewhere I have an ancient Dr. Demento tape with the original, uncut version of Tom "T-Bone" Spankus' twisted "Wizard of Oz" parody. The tape is low quality, but I'd love to have that sucker saved for history.

Existential Blues? I have a very good mp3 of it on a music disk! When I find it, I'll e-mail it to you if you like...

I'd rather have this bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobatomy!!

I think it's right after What To Do With A Large (But Finite) Amount of Monkeys. ;)

Yes! That's the one! I couldn't for the love of Pete remember the title. Is it the uncut version? I heard that they removed a lot of the Oz references for later productions, which would pretty much have made it pointless... :-(

You need to call me some Sunday (or B&K on Saturday) so we can yak about Farscape. We're up to episode 16, but unfortunately the Netflix people made their first goof ever and send episodes 18-20. We're hoping the correct disc arrives soon. This is just after John doesn't marry the princess and after the hilarious episode where the Scarran sends his mind to weirdo Earth...

It wasn't the Wizard of Oz stuff that was cut from the CD version, it was the line from "The Impossible Dream," which they couldn't get the copywrite on, so you lose the line, "I was on a quest one day to dream the impossible dream."

Actually, I should e-mail it to B/K, as they have a cable connection, if they don't mind.
