Only Wednesday

It felt like Friday most of the day. How annoying.

I have a three-disc box set to review on Friday and I've only listened to one of the discs. Oops.

Last week I was too busy running around to listen to much, if any, news. So today, for the first time in some while, I was able to turn on NPR for a few hours and I was startled to discover how little the news has changed in two weeks. All the headlines sounded exactly the same, both national and local. Choosing a government in Iraq, suicide bomber, more violence, "worst day of violence since the fall of Saddam," blah blah blah, "longest prison standoff in US history," Michael Jackson, blah blah blah. Maybe I wasn't missing anything by not being informed.

Why do they want to make PBS/NPR "fair and balanced" when it is already? Why am I not seeing this liberal bias? Why do they want to put Bible study into public schools when Sunday school exists for such things? Why can't I understand the Republican mindset? Why?

I have also done almost no exercise in over a week. I'm not sure if it's just laziness or if it's busy-ness, or a powerful combination of the two. Today was the last day for one of our crew and so there was a great deal of food at the office. I ate a lot more than I should have. I did manage 35 situps this afternoon, though.

Oooh, what 3-disc set?

<< Why can't I understand the Republican mindset? Why? >>

Because they're hypocritical, selfish and self-serving, elitist asshats? Thanks to Dubya's Texas law, an infant in (I think) Houston is being taken off the ventilator, and I don't see any act of Congress being passed on his (her? I forget) behalf.

Charlie Poole, old-timey great. The liner notes are amazing -- the man was Hank Williams Jr., David Allen Coe, Johnny Paycheck, Merle Haggard, and every other wildman/outlaw all rolled up in one; and like Hank Sr., he died young on a bender (39). But the music is the banjo roots of roots music. He's one of those ones that every folk, country, and Americana artist owe their existance to.

Well, we all know how important a "Culture of Life" is. Unless we don't. (As long as that baby is BORN, who cares what happens to it then?)

Unless a family member *cough* Jeb Bush *cough* can make political hay from drawing attention to it.
