Fanfic Widow

Today I wore a skirt for the first time in, well, a very long time. I freaked out everyone in my office. And got asked the inevitable question, "What job are you interviewing for?" The only problem with an A-line skirt is it's REAL hard to climb into a Suburban whilst wearing one. I realized that, aside from my very real "butch" tendancies, one of the main reasons I haven't worn a skirt in years is because all the ones I used to have were "fat" clothes and long gone now. This is the first skirt I've bought in my new size (it's a 14, but it's actually a little large around the waist; I should be able to wear it for a while, even as I continue to lose weight. Speaking of which, weight: 163 this morning).

rahirah's cat is tormenting me because I won't give him wet food. He doesn't understand that Silhouette gets wet food because he is old and toothless and needs the nourishment, whereas Fat Cuervo does not. Cairo just deals with not getting the treat, although the poor baby is so terrorized by Cuervo it's hard to tell if he wouldn't be more indignant if he weren't trying so hard to escape from being pummelled by Cuervo -- who, to be fair, IS only trying to play, but I think his mama cat never taught him how to properly socialize with other cats. He's a touch awkward in social settings; more, whenever he gets on a person's shoulder he drools and kneeds, which makes me think he was taken from mama cat too soon anyway. Poor insecure kitty.

Another of my creditors has been settled with, and I am another giant step closer to fiancial freedom. Lesson learned: Credit cards are EVIL.

The nice people at Mark Brine music sent me more money to write blurbs and reviews for them. I did his website bio and a previous review, and they liked me well enough to come back for more. I could have SWORN I had already done a quick overview of the CD, but I can't find it, so I have to write it from scratch anyway. I have three weeks. I should be able to come up with something.

Dinner is in the oven, and I am starving.

Yay for the skirt! That was a problem with a long A-line skirt I simply adored several years ago. I loved it, but I could only take tiny Morticia Addams steps while wearing it. I still have a couple of nice A-line skirts, if I ever lose down to their size.

I wish Cuervo would ease up on Cairo. I can't help, though, because I can't even get my own cat to stop poking me! I know he doesn't have to poke me, because he has patted me without claws on occasion. I think he likes the way I jump.

Credit cards are evil, but they're my lifesaver right now. I'll have to deal with them soon and over the next several years. :-(

Yay for getting money for writing!
