Venusian Death Flu

It may not be, but it certainly feels like it. Yesterday when I got up I was so shaky and lightheaded I didn't even THINK about going to work. Today I thought about it but decided against it.

Coincidentally enough, I do have a doctor's appointment NEXT week, which I made last week, to discuss my hip problem; that at the moment is not bothering me too much, although it gave me some twinges over the weekend in Vegas. I managed to keep it under control enough so I didn't have to explain it to my mother (my mom the nurse, who keeps nothing but aspirin in her medicine cabinet and despite HAVING this Venusian Death Flu wouldn't take anything for it until I forced her to). I've never seen Mom sleep as much as she did this last week, though.

The Bellagio Atrium, done up for Autumn:

I spent most of yesterday trying to clear off the DVR -- Mom had to choose the week when EVERYTHING started to go on this trip. I like Selfie, it's cute. Karen Gillan does a pretty good American accent.

I may come to enjoy Forever quite a lot as it gets rolling. It doesn't look like they're going to do a "death a week" with the main character. There's good chemistry between Ioan Gruffudd and Jud Hirsch.

YAY, Elizabeth Mitchell!!! I see they're going with a real evil Snow Queen to counter the Disney-fied Elsa (I did love "Frozen," but, yeah). I don't like the girl playing Elsa. There's just something about her big-eyed expression that seems ingenuine, I guess-- almost TOO earnest, even for this show. But Elizabeth Mitchell, I've loved her in everything I've seen her in. And I'm actually starting to really LIKE Emma as I never imagined I would, but I wish they'd ease back on the fake eyelashes with her.

Is anyone else watching Resurrection? I got involved last season, and I'm liking it so far this year. Very compelling. (Good acting.)

Also watched the first episode of the Americanized "Broadchurch," Gracepoint. Since I saw the English version I know the ending, so there's not as much of a mystery, but it should be pretty good. The acting isn't bad, but I could hear Tennant's Scots slip through his American accent a couple of times. Couldn't help but wonder why he was the only one of the cast who got brought over to play the role again. The gal playing Ellie is not as good as Olivia Colman was. (And why did they change HIS name from Alec Hardy to Emmett Carver, but left Ellie Miller?)

Everything left I have to catch up on I wait for others to watch with me, like Sleepy Hollow and Person of Interest, Castle and The Blacklist.

It's raining outside. Just plain rain, not a big windy storm. This is nice. If I wasn't sick I'd really enjoy it.
