Chinese Horoscopes

Last night I got the strange urge to figure out what Chinese Zodiac year each of my characters were born in and if their sign actually went along with their character at all. This required me to make a chart that went back to 1677, since that's when Amok was born. I know all their birth dates, so that was easy enough. Sean Patrick came out startlingly accurate, born in the Year of the Pig 1863, element Water. According to my Chinese Horoscope book, this: "The influence of Water makes the generous, kind Pig infinitely malleable and too trusting for his or her own good. Nevertheless, these elemental Pigs are adept at dealing with people and have a gift for divining what is going on in other people's minds. As a result, although they are easily influenced, they can also be highly persuasive with others. By nature helpful and kind, they like to be of service. A hard worker and often keen and successful in business, this is also a very sociable Animal who loves parties. Yet in fact, the Water Pig is happiest of all in the bosom of the family." The positive character traits are sincerity, gregariousness, diligence, generosity, obligingness, unpretentiousness; negative traits are naivety, materialism, superficiality, pigheadedness, gullibility, laziness. In the West-meets-East section, he's an Aries Pig, "energetic and full of joie de vivre. They make warm and affectionate friends... they have huge appetites, both physically and mentally, and can take on any task that is thrown at them. They are open and trusting in life, enthusiastic, and optimistic."

I couldn't have pegged his character better if I'd done that on purpose. It was wholly by chance, honest.

Amok is a Fire Snake (Aquarius);
Raf (Earth II/Werewolf version) is a Metal Tiger (Aries);
Matt is a Metal Dog (Capricorn);
Cody is a Earth Horse (Scorpio); and
Della is a Metal Monkey (Leo).

In the wide world of fun LJ quizzes, this was gakked from sillymagpie:

You are Leetah; the gentle one!

Which ElfQuest Character Are You? (FEMALE)

Huh. I always identified more with Nightfall.

I was depressed this morning. I chalk it up to PMS (post, fortunately), since it had no other reason behind it. It went away during the day, though. Busy day, so it went by fast.

Just heard on the CBS 6 O'Clock news: Sperm and pond scum move the same way.
