Dogs and Cats Living Together

This happens in our house a lot:

Tonight I made a sour cherry sauce for baked chicken and it was amazingly delicious. Must do more with sour cherries.

My brain hasn't been working right lately. I don't think I'm getting enough sleep, and I'm definitely not getting enough exercise. Once we know what's going on with Barb's job, I think I'll re-join the gym and this time MAKE the time, dammit. I definitely feel better when I work out even semi-regularly.

The importance of drinking lots of water: Everyone always says "stay hydrated," but a woman at work who has never been a heavy water drinker (and always told me she was amazed I could drink so much water, and she could NEVER do it because she'd "spend all day in the bathroom") has just come back to work after three weeks out with kidney stone surgery. On the whole, I think I prefer a few extra trips to the bathroom...

I lucked into finding them at our local Sprouts -- but I had first found you can order them at Amazon (of course); it's the Oregon brand canned, but they got good reviews at Amazon, and for canned cherries, they're quite good.

No chance of getting FRESH Montmorencies down this way, naturally. But we got the idea from The Splendid Table on NPR.

I know Krogers has that brand. I'll check. I'm not usually in that aisle being diabetic

cool. I found a recipe for sour orange chicken in a St Augustine FL cookbook. Luckily ELD had a tree that had gone back to the sour root stock and man was that chicken good

I don't know I've ever see the SOUR ones in Kroger's, but it could be that easy. They make GREAT sauces -- a lot of the recipes I found called for ham and pork (which we're going to try with the remaining sauce), but I found several for chicken.

A few weeks ago Barb had crisp duck at a local restaurant that had a sour cherry glaze on it -- it was really good.

I'd be more likely to find it at the big kroger's but it's worth a look

I don't like pork but I would be all over those chicken ones. I have never had duck but being all dark meat I've always assumed i wouldn't like it much.

OMG, I LOVE duck. A lot of the time it's on the boney side, but SO good. (You don't like PORK!??!?!? How long have you been in Al Queda?)

hahaha a long time. Outside of bacon, I'd have done just fine with that part of a kosher diet.
