Weather Everywhere But Here

So the ice storms in Atlanta and the blizzards in Dallas have our other locations scrambling, while we have... historic highs (it's projected to be 88 on Saturday. EIGHTY-EIGHT!!! In FEBRUARY!!!!! This bodes ill for the summer...). But it does mean some overtime, so... look for the silver lining, I suppose.

This check also sees my raise kick in (a good one), and my yearly bonus cash (also pretty good), so I really can't complain too much.

Am I alone in really not caring very much about the Olympics?

If I could draw a comic: "The Doctor dropped his breakfast."

This made me happy.

So the area that I had the filling put in a couple weeks ago was hurting (especially when I flossed), so I went back to my dentist to have them fix it, and it seems the filling is actually fine, but there's a bad laceration in the gum behind my tooth there that's causing the pain (likely caused by a sharp cracker or chip, the dentist thought). All I have to do is let it heal and it should be fine. Well, that's actually good news. I just have to not eat chips for a while...

Our cable/internet/phone bill just went from $167 to $182. WTF, Cox? Have to find out if it's cheaper to just get basic TV, and subscribe to Hulu and Yidio, then go 4G for the Interwebs, through our cell phone bill (of course, that would up our data use exponentially, so we'd have to see what would be cheaper).

The last weekend in February there will FINALLY be a toxic waste collection, and we can get rid of the piles and piles of crap we've been gathering for the last few years (since they stopped having said collection at the senior center near us).

I haven't watched a single Olympic event and have no plans to. So no, you are not alone.

Love the war kitties. :-) But sorry about the tooth. :-(

I did watch the (apparently much-edited) opening ceremonies, a couple of days later (so I could cut the commercials), and I was disappointed Shaun White didn't win another medal, but otherwise... meh.

At least the tooth itself is okay. I just have to be careful of the gum.

I don't want it to be 88 ever. Good luck.

And good luck with the gum.

I like the war kitties.

yeah that's about what I pay for my satellite/phone/pisspoor internet.

Tell me about it.

Thanks. I just have to be careful what I eat. (Nothing sharp and/or crunchy...)

Feh. Stupid technology I am addicted to...

Ack, horrible Cox bill! :-(

Sorry about the tooth.

Love the jelly doughnut theory. I wish it were a jelly doughnut. Or was. Or were. Curse you, subjunctive contrary to fact, you sound so freaky.

Well, technically, the tooth is fine. It's the gum that's cut (it just means I have to be careful what I eat... so naturally I'm craving crunchy snacks...)

Hee. Barb and I just pictured the TARDIS going by and the Doctor looking out thinking, "That was going to be my breakfast..."

Good thoughts for dealing with painful mouth, expensive cable etc, and high February temperatures! Hope there's good stuff coming, too.
