Minecraft is Digging Through My Brain

As I dig through my pixelated landscape. OMG, this game is addicting. My wife has hooked me and I CAN'T STOP.

This is why I hadn't posted for a while when I left for Vegas, and why I posted a lot when I was there -- I didn't have time to play!

But I did have a few observations I made there that I always forgot to jot down (as I mentioned, that's why I really do NEED a smart phone -- I've lost my brain cells)... I noticed, in nearly every place we walked, that at least one someone was wearing a "Keep Calm and (fill-in-the-blank)" t-shirt. I hadn't realized that phrase had gone so mainstream in America!

What else was I thinking about?

Oh, the Paula Deen thing... I read some of the stuff and all I did was get up and go put all the books I had of hers into the Goodwill box. Must get them out of the house now. And I'm rather sorry she's been on favorite shows like "The Late Late Show w/Craig Ferguson" and "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me." She put on a good show, I guess. I mean, at first, before I had all the facts, I thought to myself, "Well, she's in her 60's and from the South, if she used to talk like that I suppose I can overlook it," but that she STILL TALKS LIKE THAT NOW is unforgivable.

Of course, I have to occasionally put up with it in my 78-year-old mother, who has been known to actually say, "I'm not racist, when I was nursing some of my best friends were (fill-in-the-blank)." *sigh* Mom, that's sort of the point...

And so, because I have spent all my days off sitting at home and playing MineCraft, I haven't done a whole lot of anything -- certainly no writing (or even reading, other than some NY Times articles). I did get a little laundry done, but honestly, it's so freaking hot the last few days that any activity outside AT ALL makes sweat simply FLOW. All I did was hang up a blanket and some rugs, then put up the patio umbrella, and there was so much sweat on my glasses I walked right into the concrete block we have on the patio to hold the gazebo steady. (It's only bruised a little.)
