Second Day

I'm not really in Dallas. Seems this is really Irving. (Which is in many ways similar to how Chandler is in Phoenix.) Lunch today was Subway. (We didn't drive very far -- we plan to rectify that this week, honest.)

It's interesting, and the day went quickly. Plenty to learn and lots to observe. No stress or pressure. Everyone seems to take it for granted I'm going to be heading this team -- which pleases me -- but it's not exactly what I expected. Have to see how we find ways to do it when it rolls out in our own office.

Not as cold today, and it's supposed to warm up this week, so I may be able to get away without buying copious amounts of new clothing (yay).

Hornsby's Hard Cider is not as good as Wood Chuck, but it's all they had at Wal-Mart.

Best costume EVER.

Looks like the Texas State Fair is going on. I wish I could get over there, I'd love to get a picture of Big Tex. (Although the theme of State Fair, i.e., worst musical ever, is now running through my head...) There is also Fried Bacon Cinnamon Roll (I'm not kidding). Also: Deep Fried Jambalaya, Chicken Fried Cactus Bites, Deep-Fried Divine Chocolate Tres Leches Cake, and Deep Fried Mac-N-Cheese Sliders. And Buffalo Chicken in a Flap Jack (on a stick).

There is everything in this suite kitchen except a conventional (or even toaster) oven, and this pizza, damn it, says it's best with a conventional oven. Well, it'll just have to do with a microwave.

I actually want to see the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealy Plaza (I'm flipping through the "things to do" guide here in the room).
