And the Diamondbacks are winning. We're still in first place in the NL West, and it looks like a post-season season for us! Woot! I haven't been following the games as closely as I have in the past, but I always catch up with the 'Backs come late August/September. I try not to be a typical Arizona fair-weather fan, but it's always easy to cheer on a winning team. Next Sunday it's Star Wars Day at Chase Field, but I can't afford to get tickets because I am broke. Boo. :'(

And this one says, "I was walking along and I looked over my shoulder and saw this shot:

...so I took a quick step back to snap it, and something in my knee went 'spoing.' I was limping the rest of the week. It's better now."

It's been a very sneezey day. Got up early and managed to clear away all the old shed parts, dragging it all out to the alley. Beneath the floor we found piles of stuff they must have just tossed there as floor supports from the original house remodel -- door frames and baseboards and such just mingled amongst the 2x4s and paving blocks that actually belonged there; as well as the "nest" our old dog Sinji dug for herself down there, filled with about a half-dozen old doggie balls she must have carried down there, as well. She did like a game of fetch, that dog. There were also a family of geckos we displaced and a lot of garden snail shells.

Then we set up the new gazebo to see how it looks. Of course, it's not a permanent one so we have to fold it back up, but now we have an idea of what we're going to do back there.

Bottom of the 9th, 5-1 D-backs, now hopefully it'll be 1-2-3 and over.

The San Remo apartments, the pond, and the Beresford can be seen behind me and Barb:

I love prowling around on the NY Architecture sites to see what buildings I saw which fascinated me.

The Bow Bridge:

The D-backs won.

It never fails the first place team loses important games to the last place team! (My 'Backs have been there, believe me!)

Me, too. There was a wedding going on (that's what all the people are there for), so we didn't go up on it.

Yay for the Diamondbacks!

Sounds like the foundations of your shed are an archaeological dig. Hopefully the geckos will find somewhere else that is safe to live, since they eat bugs. Go, lizards.

It was like an archaeological dig, and I made sure the geckos made it to the edge of the house safely, where I hope they find new places to live. Once we lay the new porch they should be able to settle in fine. I'm glad we still have geckos around the place!

Over 100 losses this season. I am SO not happy with this year. At least the Texans seem to be doing better this season.

I'm loving all of your NY pictures. One of these days I'll go. A friend has an apartment that his family keeps for when they travel up there. Yes, they're rich.

I've been very happy with this season. It's been a while since the 'Backs were doing this well.

I was trying to explain to folks at work why I liked it so much, but it was hard to find the right words. The buildings, the feel of the place, the history... Phoenix has no history (or very little), and you can just FEEL it in every inch of every NY street... or maybe it's just the weight of legend; you can't pass Macy's on 34th Street without thinking about the "Miracle," or Herald Square without either thinking of "Remember me to Herald Square" or even the Macy's parade -- all the songs and stories and everything.

I would go back again any time.
