Firefox is Pissin' Me Off, Srsly

I'm working with Chrome right now, because every time I try to DO anything in Firefox, i t d o e s n ' t m o v e o r i t g o e s v e r y s l o w l y because of some lame-ass plug-in the latest update saw fit to install. ARGH. And apparently I'm not the only one having trouble. It ups the CPU useage on Firefox to astronomical levels. I can see it, behind this window, trying desperately to scroll down the page I started to scroll down a half-hour ago. SERIOUSLY. I had to close every tab I had open that might have had something on it which was Flash-related (You Tube is apparently a big offender in this). But Chrome seems to be working all right, although I don't think it's as good a browser thus far, at least it's working.

I don't know why anyone who watches television with as much fervor as I do thinks that The Event is in any way a worthy replacement for FlashForward. The last few episodes have been actually yawn-worthy, they're making their hero (Jason Ritter) into a MAJOR jerk wad, and I've found that I can miss scenes or even entire episodes and still pretty much keep track of the story (such as it is) -- unlike too-soon-canceled gems like FlashForward and Jericho, which kept me riveted to the screen. *sigh*

We had Barb's mom over for dinner, so I didn't get as much done this afternoon as I'd hoped -- I made a rather lovely chicken soup, though, full of big chunks of chicken, carrots, onions, and with barley, peas & corn. Quite nice.

And last night I made a stir-fry which came out rather like an Asian goulashe -- ground turkey, diced onion, diced carrots, peas, Chinese five-spice, ginger, Sake and Hoisin sauce, stir-fried and then simmered until done, served over noodles. THAT rocked. Have to try it again with fresh ginger instead of powdered.

Churro is a brat and got his nose swatted this morning when he was hastling Cairo. Probably deserved it, the little brat. I didn't see what happened, but heard horrible caterwauling. A while later there was this horrible crash and somehow Churro had managed to knock EVERYTHING off the lazy Susan on the table (fortunately, nothing broken, but spilled olive oil on the tablecloth). Ah, yes... a kitten.

My mom is booking us on the Oasis of the Seass for our Cruise this year. WHOA.

Now I only have to see what happens with work -- they still haven't finalized the new division, although it's a fair bet all of us who have stayed in imaging will REMAIN in imaging, but we don't know who our supervisor is (we know they have selected three for our area, but we don't know who will be over US, or if we'll remain a single team or get split up between the three), and I won't be able to schedule anything until June. I told Mom we'll know for sure sometime between May 12 and June 1, and that's all we know.

ARGH. Knocked over my wine glass all over the table. Pause to clean up. No more wine for me. *sad face*

This I sweated over for ages because I bought the sapphire yarn at Big Lots and started it, then discovered Lion Brand wasn't MAKING that yarn anymore. I gradually got enough to finish it by trolling eBay auctions, and here it is (spread over the old rainbow afghan, and now packed away because it's TOO HOT):

I really do want Firefox back working properly. Chrome is all right, but all my STUFF is on Firefox.

I want my wine back. And yes, there IS sense in crying over spilled wine.

Tomorrow I'm going to buy bagels. So there.

USUALLY I love Firefox, but right now with that new plugin, it sucks like a sucking thing. This is the first time it's ever given me cause for hair-pulling.

Thanks!! I'm very happy with it, even if I had to change colors twice (I would have loved to have finished it in the sapphire, but the periwinkle matches well enough, and then I edged it with sage).

Churro is a major brat. But he's SO CUTE!!!

I'm eager to see this ship in person -- they had a big thing on the Travel Channel last year when it first set sail, and it's amazing.

Cannot explain it. This is the first time it's ever given me grief, and sometimes I have like twenty tabs open at once.

Yep, November. It's apparently not a popular time to cruise (although I can't figure out why, it's usually been unbelievably gorgeous), so she gets some smokin' deals. We'll be on like the 10th floor with an ocean balcony (apparently, for some reason, on this ship, the desired balcony rooms face the inside atrium -- where all the noise and crowds and people are. Feh. I'd rather look out at the ocean!).

Am having a bagel right now! (Still not the PERFECT bagel, but a sight better than what we usually get out this way -- bread baked into a donut shape and CALLED a "bagel"...)

Hugs! Happy Friday!

My firefox is working fine, so I guess I didn't have that problem.

The afghan is gorgeous! I love blue almost as much as I do yellow, so that really appeals to me.

We had champagne last night for Mom's birthday.

I don't know what the deal is with it. As long as I keep anything with a Flash player off, it seems okay; but if I open a window with You Tube or other flash player, SMACK.

Thanks! I had always hoped I could finish it in the original sapphire (the darker color), but I never could find more. I'm glad it came out as nice as it did.

Barb made that one as a "want, take, have," so help yourself. :-)

If afghans didn't take so long I'd make more as gifts. Maybe I'll do that anyway this year... (musing)

Hahaha, I may have to take it.

I ordered a book from the library in hopes I can con convince my Mom to knit me a schnauzer....

I have some patterns for crocheting little critters, and I've done complex things like Piglet and Eeyore (for my niece and nephew), but sometimes it's just EASIER to finish an afghan...

Oh, I'm sure.

The only knitting I've ever done is for a pair of scarves.

Now, my knitting is not as advanced as my crocheting... but I'm working on it!

I've never tried crocheting.

Once I got the hang of it, it became easy.

Mom tried to teach me once, I believe. I'd really rather weave than anything.

I moved to Google Chrome from Firefox because Firefox was freezing my downloads. I've never had a problem with Chrome.

Lovely afghan. That's the problem with Arizona, if you love afghans and quilts: Too little time to use them.

He spilled the entire lazy susan? Impressive. Kittens will be brats.

Chrome is fast as all get out, but there are SO many things I love about Firefox...

Beautiful afghan! And I'm so glad I'm not the only one still mourning both Jericho and FlashForward.

Two shows that MADE me watch -- television that compelling just doesn't come along too often.

And thanks! :-)
