Naan Today

I attempted to make Naan. It was tasty, but not like the stuff you get in Indian restaurants. Try, try again. All the yummy mistakes!

I just finished reading Harpo Speaks. What a marvelous, marvelous, wonderful, joyous book! I adored every page. It's given me a deep desire to see all the Marx Brothers movies again; we watched A Night at the Opera a couple weeks ago; I know I also own Duck Soup (the one I know best); I have to see if I have any of the others. It's been ages since I've seen some of them.

Menopause has been kicking my ass for over a year now. Last month I thought -- I THOUGHT -- that maybe I'd finally come to the end of the misery, as I went over four weeks without a sign of my period and I was feeling active and alert and energetic... then this month came, and I have now HAD my period for the ENTIRE FREAKING MONTH. It's been on-again, off-again, sometimes barely there and now gushing freely, keeping me wildly alternating between the energetic soul I WISH to be and some lazy, chocolate-guzzling SLUG.

Blurgh.

I finally took the time to stop by the Double Butte Cemetery (the Phoenix side of the Buttes, just below the Pointe):

Although I know it's a historical cemetery (although still open to new burials), the oldest grave I could find was 1909 (bonus shot):

This place varied wildly from poor, neglected, or unmarked pauper's graves to beautifully tended extended family plots:

The Doctor had better be careful where he travels. China outlaws time travel.

This is one of the many things that worries me about the Tea Party and all of those wigged out freaks...

Gail Collins has a series of Extremely Funny articles about Donald Trump and his, ahem, race for the Oval Office. She rocks. A favorite quote from her most recent column: At least it’ll give us a chance to reminisce about Senator Jon Kyl, who gave that speech against federal support for Planned Parenthood last week that was noted for: A) its wild inaccuracy; and B) his staff’s explanation that the remarks were “not intended to be a factual statement.” Why is it Arizona's senators suck so very, very much? At least Stephen Colbert got a lot (a LOT) of mileage out of Kyl's speech.

Not intended to be a factual statement.
