Merry Christmas, One and All

I hope the day is marvelous and filled with peace for all!

The last few days whipped by swiftly. I meant to post on Thursday, but... well, as you can see!

Okay, I absolutely cannot be the only person who remembers this: In the ORIGINAL, Rankin-Bass Santa Claus is Comin' To Town, in the opening credits, there was a "letter" dropped for Jessica's voice -- "Sandy Duncan as Jessica." That credit has been missing since it was released on VHS in 1992, and it's also missing from the DVD, and now people are telling me I'm insane. One person on Twitter even told me that the singing actress, Robie Lester, was the only one who played Jessica. I KNOW it was Sandy Duncan -- but it's not anywhere on web, IMDB doesn't credit her (either on her own site or on the site for the show itself), and even You Tube doesn't have anyone having uploaded the original broadcasts from the 70's. This show first aired in 1970, and I would have been watching right from that first broadcast, every year. I ADORED it all my life because Kris and Jessica were redheads, and they were the very first redheads I'd ever seen on television, practically the first other than myself I'd ever seen, period (I don't count Lucy, because a five-year-old doesn't see "redhead" on a black-and-white show).

If you watch the opening credits, the music shifts to Jessica's song, the Fred Astaire puppet is dancing, then there's a slight cut and the Winter Warlock's credit drops instead. ANYONE out there remember?

So anyway:

An attempt without flash:

The boss of me, being adorable:

I made this for dessert. It contains bourbon and chocolate chips:

Merry Christmas to all! Keep warm and cozy, and may you all and your families be filled with joy. Comfort and joy.

Adopt one today! * Adopt one today! * Adopt one today! * Adopt one today!
