Monday, Day 68

Falling behind on EVERYTHING. Been working 6-4 every day so far this week, expect today to be no different, or tomorrow, although I think I'll come home at the regular time on Friday (knock wood).

Nano: A pathetic 5,401.

I'm glad I took as many pictures as I did.

This is the orangutan patriarch:

There is a four-generation family at the Phoenix Zoo, one of the most successful orangutan breeding facilities in the country. They're building them a HUGE new enclosure, too. There's almost always a baby or youngster; the one who was born most recently was being FAR too active to sit for pictures, though.

Tired Kathy is Tired.

Off to work. Tuesday and Wednesday will be posted later. I hope.

I love orangs! I didn't realize you were so successful with them out there. How cool. And he really does look like the bossman, doesn't he?

Definitely! We got to see the little one when she was a baby last year; now she's about the size of a three-year old and busy as one. The mother looked very tired, watching, but we saw how she kept an eye on that youngster!

Speaking of Zoos, I just found out this morning that the darling little zoo I visited in Belize is in trouble after Hurricane Richard went through -- I'm trying to figure out how to scrape up a few bucks to send (and passing the word on!).
