It's the most wonderful time of the year

The Discovery Channel preps for this most exciting week of the year!

This week Craig Ferguson hosts one of the shows (it's on Wednesday night). I'm way behind once again on Ferguson episodes. I'll have to see if I can take some time during the week to catch up a little.

It wasn't even very hot today (87 in Phoenix on August 1 is almost unheard of), but it's so humid any movement at all makes one feel sticky. How do you folks in the humid climes deal with this soggy feeling? (framefolly was enjoying it!)

I have not cleaned all the things. I'm lucky I got a few loads of laundry done and some dishes washed.

A comic which has formed a basis of immediate understanding amongst my friends:

In hot and humid climates, you just stay indoors a lot. We also use circulating air (even if there's no a/c) to keep cool - check out the shotgun houses in New Orleans which are built specifically to have good airflow through the house.

That, and after a while, you just get used to it, or complain about walking into a steam sauna, but you still go about your business.

I suppose one could ask the same of me. I'll always remember getting off the plane from Chicago in August, and just love, love, loving the 96F dry heat (at 10pm) that blasted us when we walked outside... because it was DRY! *g*

Yes, whenever we are either sleep deprived or just a little brainless, we claim the Incan Monkey God has appeared...
