The good days are good

So this afternoon while heading to the bank, I saw a fellow standing under the bridge with a sign. But unlike your common average panhandler, he was dressed as a cross between a grunge singer and a skateboard dude, and he was proudly holding a sign which read, "Family killed by ninjas. Need $$$$$$ to pay for kung-fu lessons." I wished I'd had a few bucks to give him just for originality.

Why was I going to the bank, ask you? (Well, I'm sure no one cares, really, but it's my journal.) I qualified for my personal loan, so now I can consolidate what little other debt I have AND get all the little repairs done to my truck! Wheee! Of course, there's a hold on the check, but next week when it's released I'll drop ol' White Lightning off at the shop and then hopefully I'll be able to use the truck bed again (the tailgate's been stuck for ages, and now the window won't go up and down, either), the passenger door will lock, AND the rear axle won't leak anymore.

For those who don't get newsletters or tweets from ThinkGeek.com, this is hilarious. Either it is true that lawyers have no sense of humor at all, OR, conversely, the law firm has Geeky people on staff who listened to their client's inane complaint and thought, "What the hell. Billable hours."

Did NOT get up and go to the gym, nor did I go after work. I have to get back on my routine, because despite the weight staying the same (I even dropped three pounds), clothes are mighty tight. I take my own advice about the working out, but am so tired! (Whine, whine, whine.)

Like I said, I wonder if the lawyers were chronically stupid, or in on the joke for billable hours!

Love the Ninja sign! And I've been following the ThinkGeek thing with great amusement! I just got one of their weekly email ad newsletter things, complete with a photo of a guy playing a MIDI Electric Guitar while wearing a National Pork Board t-shirt. Hee!

And yay on the loan!! That's great news!

I know, the newsletters are fun. (Someone commented they should have a pig-shaped cork board for sale -- hee.)

I, for one, was very sad when I realized the Dharma alarm clock was a joke. :-D

The first year they did it, they had an Easy Bake Oven for your computer (designed to go into an external drive bay) and I quickly realized it was a joke, but there was a brief moment when I first saw it where my brain simply went "WANT!!!!!"

LOL! As I recall, I posted links to many of the April Fool's items on my journal; some of them were just cool enough to evoke want... and, of course, WHAT?!?

(Giggle at your icon.)

Okay, I stole the ThinkGeek thing and put it on facebook but the Ninjas ate Killed My Parents thing is priceless.

Oh, so you're the one who ratted them out to the Pork Board! *grin*

I may have to swing back down there and see if he's still there today, with a couple of bucks ready. Guy's awesome. Not your standard street person!

...it was? Really? *shifty eyes*

If he is, let us know.

Sadly, no, he wasn't.
