Monday: Afternoon 30-minute workout. Did well, using "Workout #2," which is a little more cardio-heavy, and overall not bad. Did not manage to get up in the morning, though.
Tuesday: A little slower; had to run to the bank after work, so only did the 15-minute circuit/weights workout off the DVD. Did not get up early, either. Had to make cookies for luncheon on Wednesday, so did that, and whipped up a faux-BLT recipe: Take about seven or so strips of bacon and slice into chunks. Fry up chunks. Decant the drippings with a little sweet Marsala and reduce slightly, then add a can of diced tomatoes. Simmer. In the meantime, prepare tortillas with a few lettuce leaves (to taste) and a few sliced raw tomatoes, if desired. Put a generous scoop of bacon mixture into the leaves and wrap your wrap. Enjoy!
Wednesday: The butter cookies I've made for folks here (refrigerator slice-and-bake sorts) were REALLY loved by the folks at work, many of whom are not fans of my usual chocolate creations, the mutants. We had a pretty nommy Italian spread, but I did not have dessert because by lunch the cookies were all gone and the cake was Tiramisu from Trader Joe's, who definitely put coffee into it, and I can't eat/drink/stand coffee flavor. Had a leftover bacon wrap for dinner, and this time added some yogurt cheese to it, and THAT really gave it some zing!
Took Bo to his first obedience class; it's a very good teacher, working more with teaching us, the owners, how to behave and thereby teach our dogs. Bo is very smart and I think he's actually made some improvement in just one day! (There is a Shiba Inu in our class -- he's SO CUTE!!!! His name is Ichi. But like all small dogs, he thinks he's the Boss of All, and growled a little at Bo; the teacher had to make sure everyone was separated. Most of the dogs are young, from about six months to two years, and the two-year-old is a former breeder/rescue who's never had ANY socialization at all; one mixed-breed puppy named Wiley has enormous paws, I think he's going to get a lot bigger before the classes are done!)
The first and only Americana show suddenly appeared on my Rhythm Room schedule -- last night. *sigh* I think it's also the first time Reckless Kelly has come to Arizona. I hope they had a good audience and will come back...
Made some icons, instead.
Today: Nothing at all in the way of workout, since after skipping two months, my period has returned with a vengeance. I ate chocolate, dang it (possible salvation: dark chocolate Raisinettes. Hey, dark chocolate is good, raisins are good, right?).
Read in a very formal letter from a claimant: “I would like to thank you in advents for your cooperation.”
That goes along with last week's episode of Chuck, where the card at the fancy hotel read: Compliments of the Bartowski's. *headdesk*
Have a mile of stuff backed up on the Tivo.
Our work dynamic is changing, and our supervisor has asked if anyone would like to work the 4-tens shift (i.e., one day off a week, the MIDDLE of the week only; no Mondays or Fridays). On the one hand, icky ten hour days. On the other -- WEEK DAY OFF. Other con, getting home really late, because I'd be working until 5:15. Have to ponder this deeply.
I will not be surprised if FlashForward is canceled. Irritated, upset, saddened; but not surprised. Too many great shows of the last three years have died early because I liked them. (YES, I have that high an opinion of myself!)
Yay, insert image is working again! (This is what I was going to post the other morning.)
