Today I'm quite happy, so there it is.
I've been busy burning many bootlegs of a bootleg I bought on eBay to give away for free to many friends who want one. Why would I do such a thing? Because a couple years ago when I was doing something similar, but asking for the cost of production, Dwight Yoakam's publicity people sent me an irritating "cease and desist" letter. What about all those folks selling unauthorized merchandise on eBay? thought I. But that's water under the bridge. I bought the bootleg, and I don't mind sharing it with other fans.
I got a little paying work for my writing, so I'll have to knuckle down and actually get some things DONE this weekend -- I'm behind five reviews (still), and for the paid work, I have to work up a bio, press release, and review for the amazing Mark Brine, a fellow I'd never heard before I got his "Best Of" to review and was floored by how awesome he is. Two decades of recording, a grammy, and a performance on the Opry and had I ever heard of him? Nooo. "Country" radio. Feh.
Largely, though, for the last week or so, instead of working when I'm home, I've been goofing off playing with icon makers and burning discs.
