Writer's Block: Cinco de Mayo

Do you celebrate your country's independence? If so, how?


Um, Cinco de Mayo is NOT Mexican Independence Day. That is September 16. Cinco de Mayo was the victory of the Mexican army in the Battle of Puebla.

Sheesh.

Snerk. But, but, but "diez y seis de septiembre" isn't as catchy for the beer and tequila companies as a drinking day.

All the Hispanics I know say that Cinco de Mayo is pretty much a gringo holiday. They don't really celebrate it.
