It sucks to be me

Well, not in the horrid, evil sort of way. Just in the general "hey, how bad CAN timing get, anyway" way.

A while back the lovely and wonderful framefolly said that Avenue Q is coming through Phoenix, and would we all like to go? Yay, I thought, definitely! Well, turns out that weekend is the one Mom has selected for our next trip to Vegas; hotel's already booked and so is my flight. Phoo! I have to miss it. Also that weekend is a cat show here in Phoenix, actually really close to home for a change, which I'd have loved to have wandered through, just to see it -- but I can't really complain too much, since we'll be staying here -- and yes, going to the new Cirque show there ("Viva Elvis"), so I really, really have no cause to complain about anything. (Gad, the ordinary ROOMS are over 500 square feet... almost as big as our house! The suites ARE bigger than our house!!!)

And heck, after all, I've seen it already, even if it was the abridged version they did in Vegas, it WAS all the original cast. But I was listening to the cast recording this morning.

It's been a very long week. I spent almost all of today thinking it was Friday, but of course, it's not. At least tomorrow is! Saturday I have to go get my taxes done, and then we're getting our hair cut. I'll make pot roast for dinner, which means I should pick up some potatoes.

And maybe something for dessert. But what...?

There is bread in the machine starting to smell nice. Yay.

Adopt one today! * Adopt one today! * Adopt one today! * Adopt one today!

It looks amazing. I'm eager to see it all finished.

I really liked the Beatles show, so I'm looking forward to this one!

where exactly is the hotel

I adored Ka. I so want to go back and see a few others

It's in the City Center, the thing that was going up between the Bellagio and the Monte Carlo -- I believe the Aria is the tallest towers in the back (not the angled ones in the front); somewhere online I'm sure there's a whole layout, but every MGM/Mirage hotel has had a mockup of the finished whole in their lobbies since the thing broke ground, some two or three years ago now.

We've seen just about all of them except Zumanity, 'cause Mom's not interested in that one, and the Chris Angel one (I can't remember, I think that one's at the Luxor). I think O was by far the most beautiful -- that show is flat-out IMPRESSIVE, by every standard imaginable; but Love was of course my favorite. And yes, I loved Ka, too.

haha yes well you have a distinct advantage of it not being a terribly long drive. I, on the other hand, have a bit of drive ahead of me to get there (which is probably for the best. it'llkeep me out of trouble)

I actually haven't made the drive in a long time. Mom started buying me plane fare when I made noises about WANTING to drive... she worries, I guess.

understandable. driving in Vegas lookedl like it would be a bitch

We'll miss you -- but we'll also be jealous :)

Your desserts are always wonderful -- but we could bring something, too. And we could always have grapefruit! :D

Plenty of grapefruit! :-D
