In a sleepy little town south of San Diego

RAIN!!! It was amazing, the most rain I've seen in the center of the Valley since the night a microburst hit our neighborhood and knocked the huge pine tree a street up down into the street and took down all the lines -- water was flowing down the street up over the curbs on both sides, leaving only a tiny strip in the center where it didn't look like a raging river. It rained for a good hour and sprinkled a while longer before it cleared off -- awesome. I can only hope we get just a little more before the "season" officially ends.

Watched Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus. Was disappointed. Yes, the acting was appalling and the story incredulous and the dialogue atrocious, but there was simply FAR too little attention paid to the mega shark and the giant octopus, and really, even with the commercials fast-forwarded through, it was too long for the wonderful payoff shots: Mega Shark snatching a 747 out of the air; Mega Shark biting through a destroyer; Mega Shark taking a bite out of the Golden Gate Bridge; Giant Octopus swatting fighter jet out of the air. Definitely needed more disaster and monsters, less stupid romance between Pretty Bad-Actress-but-Great-Cheekbones Female Lead and Geeky Gee-Don't-I-Sound-Like-Mr.-Sulu Male Lead. I did enjoy the Irish scientist often forgetting he was supposed to be Irish. He made Boreanez sound like a native of the Auld Sod.

Because it's Caturday:

I have some quibbles with the order of their Top Ten, but it's very happy-making.

For one week, recommend/share:

Day one: a song
Day two: a picture
Day three: a book/ebook/fanfic
Day four: a site
Day five: a youtube clip
Day six : a quote
Day seven : whatever tickles your fancy

Any picture? Well, this one amuses me:

But how about one I actually took myself?
This is from my cruise last year, in Tulum, Mexico:

Rainy days are good ones for getting some housework done, but having finally steam cleaned my floor I then tracked mud all over it...
