My dragons will not breed

Every time I try to produce a new color stripey, I either get an ordinary or my dragons show no interest in each other. Foo. Now I have to wait a week before trying again. At least I got a couple of the new ones.

Does anyone want to actually read my fiction? I chaff because I have not heard back from Dark Quest publishing (how long DOES one have to wait before deciding they're not interested and trying someone else?), and I begin to think it's rather pointless writing my own stuff, but damn it, it's what I want to write. I just hate writing in a void. I like readers. I mean, being published would be awesome -- but having an audience is what I write FOR. Everyone I know is either into fan fiction or I'm a terrible slacker and I don't produce as much return commentary as I should do in exchange for their kind beta commentary. *sigh*

My arm is hurting again. My therapist guessed (rightly) I'm not doing my stretches as I should.

I have determined that "they" are correct, and I need to substantially increase my workouts in order to see any further results, because currently what I do is only maintaining my weight, even when I struggle to keep myself in the 1200 - 1400 calorie area (and MAN, that's tough!). As such, I have been in the gym every morning this week thus far. Yay, me.

If anyone DOES indicate an interest in my work, I will post a semi-pornish short story here. Hell, I may post it anyway. Maybe someone will find it and enjoy it. It's even got a pseudo-plot.

Adopt one today! * Adopt one today! * Adopt one today! * Adopt one today!

I grump because I am.

How long? Quite a while actually.
Much like other publishers I imagine there are times when it might take over a month to make it through the query process. And then after hitting that point there is the partial which takes substancially longer to read. Mixed in with reading full requested manuscripts the process can take a while. Not enough hours in the day.

That's why I query my friends, instead of sending mail to said publisher. It's been just over three months (I responded to their request for the first five chapters on April 9).

I know full well a writer has more time on their hands when it comes to these situations than the would-be publisher has. This isn't my first probable rejection, just the first time I was actually requested to send MORE based on my query.
