All the creatures are stirring

Especially this cat, who sits here by my side and pokes at me with one paw while he stares, COMPELLING me to cater to his every whim. I'm trying to ignore him. We're attempting to feed them little bits at a time, so they digest a little between meals -- this leads to discontented cats but, we hope, less barf. It may be a fruitless effort.

Fat Cat:

Penguin and the Beast's Castle:

Elvis Stitch:

Kitty Cookies:

Mufasa and Simba:

Bird and Polar Bear:

Black Cat Face:

Bunch of Grapes:

We've moved furniture and pulled up carpet in the bedroom, and are now waiting for the joint compound filling in all the holes in the wall to dry. It takes a LOT longer this time of year. And yes, the high in Phoenix today was 53F, which is DANGED COLD, DANG IT.

We went to Macy's to spend one of Mom's gift certificates, but really, there was nothing there we wanted. We picked up a few random kitchen geegaws. Then to Border's to browse a little, but we didn't end up getting very much. Picked up a few necessities at CostCo. Have not mailed presents yet, just walking all over the boxes in the kitchen. That's the some total of Caturday around here.

Adopt one today! * Adopt one today! * Adopt one today!

How on earth
Can you have glass ornaments? I've been pulling a metallic pomegranite out of Gatz's mouth for days.

I love your ornaments. So pretty! I like the fact that you two have a 'real person' tree and not a floor display decorated kind.

Why are there no cats IN the tree?

The less food/less barf thing never works. Been there, done that.

Re: How on earth
We have never had a cat really display much interest in a tree, although we got the string of bells to make sure Kojiki wasn't getting into anything (early warning system). The only thing we're concerned with is that Cairo WILL eat tinsel, so we try to keep it high enough on the tree so he won't get to it. Fortunately, he isn't as obsessed with it as he is styrofoam (which must always be put outside in the trash or recycling, because he'll open boxes to get to it). Once the tree's up, they pretty much ignore it, just consider it a highly scented water dish. And a place to barf (the tree skirt).

Now, Kojiki -- he liked to steal ornaments; we'd find them months later in strange places, and once when we had cheap satin ornaments, I came home to find he'd batted one all over the house... gradually unwinding the satin thread... it looked like a deranged psychedelic spider had been spinning webs in our living room...

I can determine from this that I've been living in Tennessee a long time: a high of 53 in late December IS TOO DANGED HOT, DANG IT! :-)

Maybe sometime you could just do one up for you! That's what Barb and I do it for, just us! :-)

Wow! I think we were colder than Chicago, too.
