My Favorite Movie Quote Guessing!
1. Pick 10 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Fill in the film title once it's guessed.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions

#1) Character 1: Whoa, partner. Little red flag going up. Something tells me we should go through it, not over it.
Character 2: Are you even looking at this thing? It's got death written all over it!
Character 1: I'm sorry, but I really, really, really think we should go through it.
Character 2: And I'm really, really done talking about this. Over we go.

#2) Character 1: Okay, son. You have only one chance to throw that bomb through the hole.
Character 2: Dad, in case I don't make it, I'm sorry I said I wish you weren't my dad.
Character 1: I don't blame you, son. I've never been that good of a father. Maybe it all starts with the way my father raised me. Yes, it's all clear to me. It's all just been one long, unbroken chain of...
Character 3: Somebody throw the goddamn bomb!

#3) Anyone who isn't dead or from another plane of existence would do well to cover their ears right about now.

#4) Will you look at that! Look how she moves! It's like Jell-O on springs. Must have some sort of built-in motor or something. I tell you, it's a whole different sex!

#5) I've always been kind of a pacifist. When I was a kid, my father told me, "Never hit anyone in anger, unless you're absolutely sure you can get away with it." I don't know what kind of soldier I'm gonna make, but I want you guys to know that if we ever get into really heavy combat... I'll be right behind you guys. Every step of the way.

#6) Character 1:I mean to kill you in one minute, N__. Or see you hanged in Fort Smith at Judge Parker's convenience. Which'll it be?
Character 2: I call that bold talk for a one-eyed fat man.
Character 1: Fill your hands, you son of a bitch.

#7) It's the same things your whole life. "Clean up your room," "Stand up straight," "Pick up your feet," "Take it like a man," "Be nice to your sister," "Don't mix beer and wine, ever." Oh yeah, "Don't drive on the railroad track."

#8) You know, I'm such a great driver, it's incomprehensible that they took my license away.

#9) I was thinking about death and all. About seeing how you're gonna die. I mean, on one hand, if dying was all you thought about, it could kind of screw you up. But it could kind of help you, couldn't it? Because you'd know that everything else you can survive.

#10) You punch in at 8:30 every morning, except you punch in at 7:30 following a business holiday, unless it's a Monday, then you punch in at 8 o'clock. Punch in late and they dock you. Incoming articles get a voucher, outgoing articles provide a voucher. Move any article without a voucher and they dock you. Letter size a green voucher, oversize a yellow voucher, parcel size a maroon voucher. Wrong color voucher and they dock you! 6787049A/6. That is your employee number. It will not be repeated! Without your employee number you cannot get your paycheck. Inter-office mail is code 37, intra-office mail 37-3, outside mail is 3-37. Code it wrong and they dock you! This has been your orientation. Is there anything you do not understand, is there anything you understand only partially? If you have not been fully oriented, you must file a complaint with personnel. File a faulty complaint and they dock you!

1) Correctly guessed as Finding Nemo by framefolly
2) Correctly guess as The Simpsons Movie (I'll waive the incorrect apostrophe) by typographer
3) Correctly guessed as Dogma by queenofattiola
4) Correctly guessed as Some Like It Hot by typographer
7) Correctly guessed as Groundhog Day by nutmeg3
8) Correctly guessed as The In-Laws by sillymagpie

And now to get other Caturday things done...

Yes, you are right!

I don't think any of them are that obscure (except MAYBE #10, which I expect Barb to get)...

(BTW, thanks for the mix CD! Do you have "Bare Naked For the Holidays"? I'll make you a copy if you don't! -- with extras, of course.)

Two is, of course, the Simpson's movie.

And four is Some Like it Hot!
Dec. 13th, 2008 08:49 pm (UTC)
Yes, and yes!
Dec. 13th, 2008 06:57 pm (UTC)
One is Finding Nemo, I think?
Dec. 13th, 2008 08:50 pm (UTC)
You are correct!

Dec. 13th, 2008 09:17 pm (UTC)
#7 is Groundhog Day, the only Bill Murray movie I adore. Or can even stand, if it comes to that.
Dec. 14th, 2008 01:15 am (UTC)
Yep, that's the one!

(You don't like "Ghostbusters"?!)

Dec. 14th, 2008 01:17 am (UTC)
Nope. It has moments, but ultimately it just bored me.
Dec. 15th, 2008 08:22 am (UTC)
Dang, now I'm in the mood to watch Scrooged (which I love), but I have to get up early for a meeting at work...
Dec. 17th, 2008 01:11 am (UTC)
Hm, people have mostly guessed the ones I know.

8. The In-Laws
9. Garden State?
10. Office Space?
Dec. 17th, 2008 04:56 am (UTC)
#8 is, of course, correct.

Nope, and nope.
Dec. 17th, 2008 01:16 am (UTC)
#6 is going to drive me crazy. One-eyed fat man...you'd think I couldn't forget that. I know the line "Fill your hands, you son of a bitch." DAMMIT!!!
Dec. 17th, 2008 01:55 am (UTC)
Yes, you do know it. I thought the "one-eyed fat man" was a dead giveaway, really. *g*

I'm surprised you didn't jump right on #8 (and I know you know #9, too).

Dec. 17th, 2008 02:11 am (UTC)
But I did jump right on #8!
Dec. 17th, 2008 04:56 am (UTC)
I didn't get that response until after I got THIS response...
