Odds, Ends, Commodities

Okay, McCain, it has been proven again and again that you cannot "shrink the government, create jobs, and grow the economy." You have to get rid of something there. Can't do all three.

Of course, the state of the current polls shows us just exactly how planted in reality a sizable number of Republicans are.

I hate Outlook 2013 with a White Hot Passion that I cannot state in words. They pushed it on us at work without so much as a by-your-leave, and after about ten minutes of trying to understand why it's all in a pale grey-and-ice color (you can change it to grey-and-grey!) so it's extremely hard to read (everyone who's gotten the update is squinting at the screen), and why it's so cluttered and clunky, I went online and Googled "how to make Outlook 2013 look more like Outlook 2010." What do you know, dozens of articles. :P

Unfortunately, there's no way to make it completely pleasant, but I'm dealing. I'm not sure which version I have here at home, but I like it way better (I miss Thunderbird, but alas, it would not work with Windows 8).

I can't find my go-to sausage-bean soup recipe. I mostly remember it, but I wanted to double check all the ingredients, and I can't find it ANYWHERE, not on either computer or in my handy Binder-of-printed-recipes or anything. Phoo. I think I've got it, but I feel like I've forgotten something.

That said, time for dinner.
