Halloween Cat

Now bring us some figgy pudding and bring it right here

Merry Christmas!

For the first time in some while, I slept as long as I liked. There is peace in the world this morning (at least in this little corner of my universe), with one cat sleeping on the bed with Barb, and the other perched on the back of the sofa looking out at a chilly morning (it's 47 F in Phoenix this morning). We have a lamb roast ready to go in later, I do plan on making rolls, we have green beans, mashed potatoes, and of course mint jelly. There is a Christmas log for later, and plenty of petit fours and Christmas candy.

Speaking of Christmas candy, my overcooked failed peanut butter fudge turned into very successful peanut butter TOFFEE (almost caramel, really). It's actually quite good, for those who like sticky, chewy candy (which Barb doesn't, so I have to make presents -- I took some of it to work).

My old hard drive doesn't appear to be working, either. It was pulled out of Willie, my old desktop computer (whom I loved with all my geeky heart), and has been in an external box for a while. I realized this morning it still had a lot of my old music on it, which would save me having to rip everything again, but I can't it to work, either. *is frustrated* At least I do still own most of what I ripped (some of it I may have given away once it was ripped, though); the worst is those old filksong tapes. They take forever to digitize and catalog (I guess good thing we saved those once I digitized them, too -- see why I never throw anything out?). And I hope I can get everything I bought back from the iTunes store... *SIGH*

But otherwise, looks to be a lovely Christmas morning! May it be warm and bright for all! {{hugs}}
Xmas Cat

From Atlantic to Pacific, gee the traffic is terrific

Joyous yule to all! I am a little tipsy from wine, happy and full from lamb, and generally pleased with all Christmas things.

My lovely wife got me a beautiful Swarovski crystal necklace and a scanner for slides and prints (which I've always wanted to scan some of my family's old slides), and Mom got me some pretty shirts. Dinner was absolute perfection, with delicious lamb, mashed potatoes, and marvelous brussels sprouts (can't beat 'em fresh!).

Then I watched both Waters of Mars and The End of Time, part one, and...

I am very happy.

And a little tipsy. Drank wine with dinner, and before dinner, and having another lovely glass now. Mmmmm. Happy dinner, happy Christmas, happy Dr. Who. Happy me.

And I got a Festivus egg: Adopt one today!

Adopt one today! * Adopt one today! * Adopt one today! * Adopt one today!

Hope everyone else is happy, too!

ETA: Oh, yes:
