Halloween Cat

The holiday season can officially begin

Today is the Monday after the Thanksgiving weekend. This means four days of mail will be waiting when we get in. Whoop. So I expect to be home late.

I took the computer offline this weekend (notably Saturday and Sunday) to avoid being distracted by email and Internet. Some writing was accomplished. Not as much as I'd hoped. I kept being distracted by things to do around the house, instead.

Words: 35,241

Not good. I have one week left. On the other hand, I also now have a real grownup living room. It is made of awesome. Still a few things left to set in place, some things left to hang on the walls, and a little reorganization to do, but after five straight days of doing that, I need a vacation from my vacation. And despite being miserable tired yesterday, my stupid subconscious knew it was Back To Work today and refused to settle down and sleep. *sigh*

I'm a little behind on friends' list stuff, so if I haven't commented it's not that I'm not interested, it's I've been scary busy. I'm hoping that next week things will be back to normal and I can go back to puttering around on the original Third Novel. I still haven't heard back from the last agent I sent the First Novel to most recently--and that was before the desktop computer went down.

I hope I can also, this week, set up the new desktop, so this one can go back to just being the overglorified Word Processor it was purchased to be. (I'm working on a Pentium III "Thinkpad" with a good-sized hard drive but almost no RAM. I couldn't even install iTunes on it.)
