Halloween Cat

Tomorrow Never Comes

Many things have changed since last I posted.

I went in for my root canal and the oral surgeon looked at my x-rays and said, "Are you sure you need a root canal?" He proceeded to do several tests and concluded that I, in fact, did not need any such thing. All was canceled and I went home, where I spent my day on PSL cleaning house, doing laundry, and then going to my spa appointment. Very nice, indeed.

Friday it was back to work and things got done. When I got home, the wed mistress/guide at the website I write reviews for and I chatted and for the first time she realized she was sending me to see a two-hour show at a festival event that was a 70-mile drive away. We canceled.

So Saturday, suddenly I had money I didn't know I was going to have and a full tank of gas. We went to Last Chance and found shoes were 50% off. Wow. Things were, indeed, going well. There was even a bright green flowing skirt, sitting there in my (reduced) size like it had been waiting for me - it just fits, and will fit even better in another ten pounds.

Sunday was very nice. We cleaned up for Barb's mom, then went out to lunch.

The weather has been really, REALLY nice - even a little rain.

I've gotten some writing done and gotten some SMOKIN' good commentary from nice folks who are reading my work. Now I need to put together the package to send to the next agent on my list. I need to get a copy of Word, as well as a good printer.

Today was heavy mail, but we got it all done and I was not under serious pressure all day long.

The new Coke Rewards are up, and they've added a "Home" section which includes things from Hamilton Beach, Kitchenaide, and Cuisinart. Oooo.

I'm sure something is going to happen to counter all this, but so far... it's pretty darned nice. I even lost another pound.

I didn't mean to, but I find I REALLY like Drive. I hope they don't leave it on opposite How I Met Your Mother. Also very, very much enjoyed the most recent Doctor Who - I realize the story had holes you could fly the TARDIS through, but the character development and acting were superb! We just finished watching Season One of Six Feet Under and I'm in love with this show. I wish I'd been able to watch it "live." One of these days I may have to get a "pay" station.

I'm a little broke, but bills are paid; I got my plane tickets to meet Mom for Mother's Day in Vegas; I think I bought six pairs of shoes; we got everything we needed at CostCo; and my brain is starting to wake up again.

But on a more serious note, and quite apart from things going well in my own life, my deepest condolences go out to anyone who has friends or family at Virginia Tech - what is it about the middle of April that makes Americans go berserk?
