Catching up with thangs

I have been lounging around virtually all week. I guess I was wound up more about that test than I thought I was. So since Wednesday, I've pretty much done... nothing.

Let's think. Thursday. Yes, I know. Politically incorrect observation: There have always been dates that we would "remember forever." But last year I asked a woman about my own age (maybe a little younger) about December 7, and she didn't know what that was. Absolutely no idea what it meant. So basically, we might remember, and the next generation, but our grandchildren? They won't. They won't know what people are talking about, and their grandchildren probably won't care. History's like that. We suffer, we move on. With any luck, we learn from the suffering. Although, looking back at history, I'm not sure we do learn.

Enough of all that.

Friday. I came home and vegged out for a while, then we tried to go out for pasta and ended up with Thai because construction made it impossible to get to Guiseppe's. Thai was delicious, though.

Caturday. Managed to get out of bed, watched Barb do the yard work while I swept and did some of the trim, did some shopping, all the laundry, and prepped the house for an evening gathering. sillymagpie, tiirz, framefolly, and the guys all came over, lots of feasting and the final chapters of The 10th Kingdom, and I didn't touch the computer pretty much all day. It was a very pleasant day, really.

Today. Watched Barb mow the back yard while taking down the last of the laundry off the line. I folded it all, then we went out for lunch, did Mom's shopping, and now I have lounged around all afternoon watching the Psych marathon Tivo captured from Friday as well as the season finale.

There's a lot of stuff on Tivo I haven't finished watching; Ellen started up with new episodes this week, including footage of her wedding (hooray!), but Maggie and I finished watching almost the whole week of Craig Ferguson. I have to look around on YouTube to see if his "It's your Duty to Vote, Dammit!" monologue is there, because Everyone Must Watch It. Totally awesome. I also have last week's season premiere of Sarah Connor and a few other things, then gear up for all the rest of the season premieres!

I have noted that almost everything I watch is now scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. Even Tivo can't keep up with that. I have to set the clock on the old VCR in the other room to catch everything a plain two-channel Tivo can't catch (and I never dreamed I'd actually NEED a four-channel Tivo).

I haven't written anything in ages. I was looking through my "weight" tags and I'm really not sure if I've actually lost anything or not in the last two years, since I was using my old scale then, and it ran about six pounds heavier than the good new digital scale. Hmmm. I still can't fit into the really fancy jeans, but I DID squeeze into the Chico Size 0 pants I got at Goodwill a few months ago (Chico's size 0 is something like 7/8, I THINK; it's not a real size 0); still can't quite zip them, but I think that's progress. I was aiming for my goal weight by the wedding, but I don't think that's happening...

Very Important Dragons:

Gato Blanco:
Adopt one today!

Eggs in trouble:

Adopt one today!

Adopt one today!

New eggs:

Adopt one today!

Adopt one today!

I still can't get a silver or a gold, but that swirly one is new!
