Caturday hooray

We managed to spend over $100.00 at Trader Joe's today. I've never spent that much at Trader Joe's. And all we really went for was bread and yogurt - but we got some fish, nuts, tomatoes, cookies, wine... all that good stuff. And, apparently, free flowers for spending over $100. They went into the vase with my Valentine bouquet. Pretty!

The skies cleared up so laundry has been done (one load is still going, and will be hung shortly). I haven't vacuumed yet, but have managed to clear some of the Tivo (Eli Stone, which I think I'm going to like, and Ellen episodes). I have to remember when I set it to record anything from CBS to have it start one or two minutes early, since our CBS station starts things before the top of the hour (annoying), as does NBC, on occasion (as ABC runs over).

All the electric plugs in the kitchen have suddenly stopped working. Last week I plugged in our little juicer (a simple Black & Decker manual citrus juicer, nothing fancy), and the outlet snapped after two grapefruit halves. Okay, we have other outlets. Today the same thing happened on another outlet, and THIS time it took all the outlets, except the ones housing the appliances and the overhead light. So I had to run an extension cord from the kitchen. The plugs in the dining room are working fine. I sent another email to our contractor, who CLAIMED they were going to finally fix our not-working telephone outlet "sometime this week." Haven't heard another word. And after all the nice things I've said about them, too!

I'm wondering how to prepare the half-pork roast for dinner this evening. Hmmm...

That's weird about the outlets. Did they throw the breaker or really burn out? Do you have the little reset buttons on your outlets?

And that starting early/running late thing is a pet peeve of mine - especially because I can't set my DVR by time, only by program. So if the nets aren't accurate in the info they send to the cable co, I end up missing bits.

No buttons; they just made a snapping noise and stopped working. We flipped the breakers, and that didn't help. Weird. Never seen anything like it.

Tivo at least has an "options" section where I can set it to record a minute past or a minute after (or two or three, etc). I just have to make sure to do that when I realize what's going on.

Never mind, you were right. Reset buttons, right on the outlets. D'oh. *g*

Trader Joe's does rock.

Checked the circuits, first thing. (And had to re-set the clock in here for it.)
