In which I just yammer

I picked this up over at liberalrage -- most fun quiz ever. And kinda freakin' scary.

Here it is Wednesday already. Very fast start to the week. I haven't been to the gym since last Tuesday. I blame a combination of my own intense laziness and rahirah's car, which has been in the shop since last Friday, requiring me to take her back and forth to work. Which is no chore, but does mean I don't get up and leave early. But now the car is fixed and I'll have no one to blame but myself if I don't get my carcass out of bed tomorrow morning.

I have two reviews due on Friday. I had three, but my webmistress was kind and pushed the book to next week -- which is good, since I haven't read more than a few pages of it. Oops. I suppose I'll have to do some reading this weekend.

It took me FOREVER to catch up on one day of my flist, and I have hardly any friends. (Not a ploy for sympathy.) It always happens when I don't get to the computer for a day, everyone has something interesting happen to them (or something interesting, or horrifying, happens in the news -- no raise to the minimum wage, whoo, so much for "compassionate" conservatives!).

My brakes are being weird, which no doubt means all my spare money (and possibly some of my savings) is going to go to car repairs. *le sigh* Oh, well. Easy come, easy go.

Try catching up when you've been offline for three weeks! I finally gave up.

I read about the Republicans nixing the raise to minimum wage. The sad thing is, I think the amount of the raise would still be too low (it was $7.15 or something like that).

Today a friend of my sister's who needs serious surgery was denied help by AHCCCS. She was told to go ahead and get the surgery, then call them when she will be, essentially, bankrupt.

We don't have national healthcare why>

Yeah. Apparently the min. wage NOW is $5.15, or bascally about $10,000 a year. No wonder so many people are living below the poverty line.

Something's gotta give somewhere...

And that, I believe, is supposed to support a family of four.

Yeah, that's what I hear.

The richest country in America. Hear, hear. :-P

And I think it hasn't changed since the 90's sometime. It's disgusting.

I have no desire to see how close Colter and Hitler really are, so I'm not taking that quiz. I would gladly snap her scrawny little neck for these latest comments, and yet apparently enough people agree with her that she's #3 on the USA Today list. It's enough to make me puke.

It's actually scary. I got 9 right (I think out of 15, even); and that was trying to aim for things that sounded modern for Coulter. . . and I was wrong more on what she'd said. It appears Hitler's main difference was a better vocabulary.

Hell, the whole country's heading that way in jackbooted glee. They want the government thinking for them and telling them what they should do. They don't seem to understand what it actually MEANS.
