The other day as I drove to work, I made my usual turn up 56th Street to pass the Tempe Buttes (going up into our office park) and there was a hawk perched on the street lamp above me. I paused to look up at him since I love hawks, and I saw a mockingbird dive-bombing him. The mockingbird looked like a fly attacking a horse from that distance. I thought it was funny. The hawk was just sitting there with that hunched "What's HIS problem?" look.

I just got me speakers for my iPod. They were on sale (with coupon) at CostCo. They're WAY better than the cheapie ones I got for a buck on an eBay auction - they actually recharge as well as play, nice and clear sound.

I can't believe the number of artists I forgot when playing around with that music layout. I may have to add some more, like Jesse Dayton and John Hiatt.

I managed to finish the two reviews I had due yesterday - both new releases from newer independent artists, so hard to find information on them. Rancho Deluxe is a new band out of California who do roots country-rock in a Graham Parsons/Byrds/Flying Burritos style; not surprising, since two of the boys (Jesse Jay & Graham Harris) are sons of Greg Harris, former Flying Burrito picker himself.

I like the new layout on my journal but I need to figure out what font I had before, since I like it better than what's there now. I need to adjust a few colors here and there, but overall I'm happy with it, at least for a while.

More wisdom from Johnny Cash: The rhythms of life on the road are so predictable, so familiar. I've been out here forty years now, and if you want to know what's really changed in all that time, I'll tell you. Back in 1957, there was no Extra Crispy. Other than that, it's all the same.

I'll have to count 'em up and see what my total is. I always suspected I was, myself, but I'm not wealthy enough to satisfy my desires. {g}

I'm really going Johnny crazy lately. Which is good, since I have to do that Johnny Cash bio thing by the 28th...
