In which I whimper some

I got grumpy last night, although it was a good evening. It's just that time of the month, though, so pay me no mind. It's a hormone thing.

ANYWAY... last night we went out to celebrate rahirah's birthday (which is actually tomorrow), and finally got that sushi which she has been craving. It's a GREAT sushi bar, too. Extra delicious, super yummy happy sushi, and not too unreasonably priced, too, for such a nice place in the Biltmore neighborhood, too. Then we came home for presents and the angelfood cake I made which did not fluff properly, despite my very careful preparation. I hate it when I make a 10-egg yolk from scratch angelfood cake and it does not fluff. It tastes okay, but it's not light and fluffy like it should be. At least the accompanying creme brulee (to use the ten egg yolks, natch) came out well. I gave her the Phoenix Pony edition of the Trail of the Painted Ponies, she got some books from her sister and a big fat Borders gift card from sillymagpie. It was a good evening, no matter how grumpy I get. I still have a lingering cough.

This week I have some vacation days scheduled, and I shall use them for Spring Cleaning. I do this every so often, gives me time at home to actually organize, de-clutter, and clean without anything else on the agenda.

I finally appear to have gotten a collar for Cairo which he cannot wiggle out of. Fingers are crossed.

I enjoyed genebreashers's April Fool's joke from yesterday. Ha ha. :-)

Now I need to change all the calenders and make sure my daily cable show recording is set to the right time, since everyone else in the country changed their clocks, but not us, so I think it's on an hour earlier. I think.

You Belong in Amsterdam

A little old fashioned, a little modern - you're the best of both worlds. And so is Amsterdam.
Whether you want to be a squatter graffiti artist or a great novelist, Amsterdam has all that you want in Europe (in one small city).
