Wha'd'do, Everybody! (No, I don't know what it means, but it's what Wavey says, and I love Wavey.)
Very little exciting happened today for a Caturday; we went out to the Goodwill 50% off sales to see if I could find me something for a passable banana costume (our intrepid team at work are being "Monkey and Bananas" on Friday), and I found bright yellow shorts, a bright yellow hoodie, and a bottle holder which, stuffed and sewn to the hoodie, will make a reasonable stem. And, with the stem removed, these will actually be used as real clothes -- which means I got a multipurpose costume for quite a bit less than it would have cost me to buy a "real" banana costume at the Spirit Halloween store. I also found some nice new tops, a couple of nifty bottles (one of the full-sized Wheaton reproduction bitters bottles I actually collect and a nifty green glass one from Amsterdam, two for a buck, where either one would have probably been at least $4 in an antique shop). Then we went to Costco to get a few necessities, and now I am completely broke because of Homeowners Insurance, but hopefully that means we've reached the end of Hideous Expenses Involved With Homeownership for the year (termite treatment, property taxes, insurance) and now I can focus on the upcoming cruise and, then, OMG, CHRISTMAS!

Yesterday was a pretty good Caturday, all around. We got out to get Barb her See's (her Valentine's present), then did some shopping for us and for her mom, then back home to a cheese-and-meat platter night and the Dead Like Me follow-up movie, where I learn (again, I KNEW this) that Henry Ian Cusick plays DESMOND, not BEN, on LOST. I don't know why I keep making that mistake. Anyway, even though he plays a horrible, terrible, evil, rotten jerk, he's still gorgeous and fun to watch. And for all I don't like the girl they had to cast as Daisy, it wasn't bad. MOST of the original cast came back, anyway, and the story was good. Nice wrapup, anyway. I wish more series got that sort of chance.
I got my bonus on Friday and it's gone already, since we're having the foyer closet done (finally!), and I wrote it away to the closet people almost as soon as I got home on Friday. More money went to pay the state for the priveledge of owning this property, and that did it for paycheck and bonus. Fortunately, I also saw my accountant Saturday morning and I'm getting a good refund from both the state and the feds, so even though I know the state will drag their feet giving out said refund (Arizona's economy isn't quite as bad as California's, it's pretty close), at least I'll have that eventually! At the moment, though, I can't spend any more money until a) I get paid again, or b) I get one or the other refund.
I finally made the chocolate tart I meant to make for our Valentine's Day dessert. Yes, I am that lazy.
I have had a sinus headache for three days that nothing is touching. I think my brain is leaking out my ears.

Our condo isn’t the sort of place you expect to find vampires living. For one thing, the windows let in a lot of direct sunlight. I let that happen because I love the sun. I wish that was the reason she left, but it’s not.
When I lived alone, I didn’t have to be alone. I could always find someone to share time with. Now I’m married, so I can’t. Ironic, isn’t it?
Sometimes I wish we’d never met. Of course, then I’d still live underground, and wouldn’t see the sun from my bedroom at all. And there’s another irony.

Lazy Sunday. Slept in a bit, then read most of the morning (not any of the things I SHOULD be reading), now watching Doctor One struggle against the Zarbi on The Web Planet. Yesterday we went to see Hellboy II: The Golden Army, which was pretty darned awesome. Then we had some Thai food (yummy!) and watched a little Ouran High School Social Club. A good Caturday, too.
I was going to FINALLY post the pictures from Las Vegas (me with my new haircut), but I can't seem to access all the files on
rahirah's shared drive for some reason. I can see the house pictures, but those have already been posted! Ah, well. Maybe I'll spampost later when I get it figured out.
