End of the Short Long Week

I was on the late shift this week, which I'm glad of, since it was only four days - because when I get off at 6, they are VERY long days.

I made this icon this week, though.

This is my new favorite tea.

I have done nothing else constructive this week - when I work this shift, I never see or hear any news (it's too late in the morning for my usual "Morning Edition," and I get home too late for the Evening News), but I did get in a couple of good workouts, which is good.

Still have not lost any weight.

Thanks for the tea link. I think I might get that in black tea, as I'm not a huge green or white tea fan, even with flavors.

You have reminded me -- I got a smashing tea at a restaurant when I was on vacation a few years back, and bought a tin to take home. When I went to look for it online, the website of the restaurant was a malware site squatting on their name -- which I called and told them. Still left me with no tea, though. :p

As for the weight, it may be that you are adding muscle working out, which cancels it out? I remember reading somebody years ago saying that if she lost weight without doing anything, it meant she had to get back in the gym as she was losing muscle.

I love the green, but it sounds like the black is good, too (judging by what people say online). From just the two kinds I've tried from that company, I can say I recommend them. (They sent me some samples, too, but I haven't tried those yet.)

Hopefully they'll clean up the malware site and you can order the tea eventually.

Yes, I'd believe that if I were fitting into my smaller clothes, but not yet. I have to cut my calories more seriously. Exercise alone isn't doing it... I'm tired of being 180 pounds.

I've been using it for dessert as an evening treat - zero calorie deliciousness.

I just ordered two more tins; I wish it came in the larger size. (The only trouble I'm having with this loose-leaf tea stuff is all these used tea leaves. I've started strewing them out in the yard...)

I do that with Adagio's caramel and tiger eye teas.

I generate SO MUCH tea leaves. I wish I could composte

We've been talking seriously about getting a composter (they sell the barrel ones at Home Depot, they're not horribly expensive). The family up in Washington threw all their organics from the kitchen into the heap, but they have a HUGE yard and garden (not to mention it's WET there).

Caramel, eh? Sounds interesting...

The ironic thing is there is plenty of land at the apartment that COULD be used for it but no desire from those rednecks.

Caramel is good. Usually that's a flavor that tastes so fake but theirs is delicious. They're pretty much my go-to online tea place. I just found another one that's pretty good too

The place you live scares me.

I'll have to check them out.

yeah really the place should scare you

I need to get back to making a list of what is and isn't good (oriental spice and one of the chai teas sucks, too much clove, tastes like medicine)

Yeah, I bought some loose leaf teas from the bulk section at Safeway and so far -- NOT impressed.

I suppose it was a gamble, that.

yeah sometimes they are there too long. Adagio has fandom blends too that are expensive to make a mistake with....

and loose leaf is much toucher with brew times and temps

Yes, that's true.

I've tried a lot of different things; french press, one of those Teavana drips out the bottom (I like that), and my old tea pot; so far all good with the Harney & Sons teas.

I had one of those teavana things too, broke it. Now I have one I got at Macy's. It's a cermaic pot with a wire cage that sits just inside and you pull it out at the 3-5-7 minute mark depending what type of tea you have. works beautifully and more durable in theory than the plastic

That's cool.

I'll see how long this lasts. It's only a month or so old at this point. :)

I had it for a few years
